Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
Please read these terms carefully. They explain your rights and ours when you use InkBell. In short: InkBell drafts exam papers from material you choose; you check them before use; you only upload material you are allowed to use; paid plans renew monthly until you cancel; and you can cancel at any time.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and DEVSTAX (Private) Limited of Lahore, Pakistan ("InkBell", "we", "us"). They apply to the InkBell website (https://inkbell.app), the dashboard (https://app.inkbell.app), the InkBell phone apps and every service we provide through them (together, "InkBell").
By creating an account or using InkBell you accept these terms, our privacy policy and our refund and cancellation policy. If you do not agree, please do not use InkBell.
If you use InkBell for a school, college, academy or other organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Who can use InkBell
InkBell is made for teachers, tutors and educational institutions. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of your school or a parent or guardian, to create an account. InkBell is not meant to be used by students to create their own accounts.
3. Your account
- Give your real name and an email address you can access. We send verification codes and important notices there.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done in your account.
- One account is for one person. Do not share your login or sell, rent or transfer your account.
- Tell us straight away at support@inkbell.app if you think someone else has used your account. Changing your password signs out your other devices.
4. What InkBell does
InkBell helps you create exam and test papers. You give it material (photos of pages, a PDF of a book or notes, or a subject and topic you type), choose the class, marks, difficulty and pattern, and InkBell uses artificial intelligence (AI) to draft questions and an answer key. You can edit the paper, replace questions, add your school details and print or download it.
Books you upload are read and kept on your "shelf" so you can make more papers from them later. Some pages, such as photos, scanned pages, InPage Urdu and formula-heavy pages, need extra reading by AI and are counted as scanned pages.
5. Plans, limits and the Free plan
InkBell has a Free plan and paid plans (currently Teacher and Pro). What each plan includes, such as papers a month, how many typed and scanned pages your shelf holds, new books a month, the highest total marks and how many questions you can replace per paper, is shown on the pricing page and in the app.
- Monthly allowances (papers and new books) reset on your plan's monthly date. Unused papers do not carry over.
- A paper made from a large selection of pages may use more than one paper from your allowance (one for each started 300 pages). The app tells you before you make it.
- If your books need more shelf space than your plan has (for example after moving to a smaller plan), they are kept but locked until you remove some books or upgrade.
- An Exam Pack (5 extra papers) is a one-time purchase. Its papers are used after your monthly papers run out and expire 60 days after purchase.
- The Free plan has lower limits and may show a small "Made with InkBell" line on papers. We may change what the Free plan includes at any time.
- To keep InkBell working for everyone, we also apply technical limits, for example on how many uploads or checks you can make in an hour.
6. Payments, renewals and cancelling
- Paid plans are bought on the InkBell website and paid in Pakistani rupees (PKR) with a supported wallet, currently Easypaisa or JazzCash, through our payment partners. Prices include any taxes we are required to charge unless shown otherwise.
- Paid plans renew automatically every month on the date you subscribed, and the plan price is charged to the wallet you saved, until you cancel. We remind you a few days before each renewal.
- If a renewal payment fails, your plan keeps working for a short grace period (currently 3 days) while you pay. If it is still unpaid after that, you move to the Free plan.
- Upgrading (for example from Teacher to Pro) is charged straight away and starts a new monthly period with fresh allowances. Moving to a smaller plan takes effect on your next renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription on the website. Nothing more is charged, you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then you move to the Free plan. Your books and papers are kept.
- If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 14 days before the new price applies. If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it starts.
- If you bought through an app store (such as Google Play or the App Store), that store's billing and refund rules apply to that purchase, and you manage or cancel it in the store.
- Payments are processed by our payment partners under their own terms. We never see or store your full wallet PIN or card number.
7. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our refund and cancellation policy, which is part of these terms. In summary: a full refund within 7 days of your first payment if you made 3 or fewer papers; within 3 days of a renewal you forgot to cancel if you made no papers; and always if you were charged after cancelling or charged twice.
8. Your material
"Your material" means everything you put into InkBell: photos, PDFs, typed topics, school names and logos, edits and the papers you make.
- You keep ownership of your material and of the papers you make.
- You give us permission to store, copy, read and process your material only as needed to run InkBell for you: for example to read your books, make papers and answer keys, show them to you and keep them in your account. We do not publish your material or show it to other users.
- You confirm you have the right to use the material you upload for teaching, for example because it is your own work, it is your school's textbook used for your classes, or the copyright owner allows it. Do not upload material you are not allowed to use.
- If you believe material in InkBell infringes your copyright, email us with details and we will look into it promptly and remove it where appropriate.
9. AI-made papers
- Questions, answers and answer keys are drafted by AI. AI can make mistakes: a question may be unclear, an answer may be wrong, or a paper may not match your syllabus exactly.
- Always check a paper and its answer key before you use it. You are responsible for the papers you give to students and for how you mark them.
- Papers made from a typed topic (Magic papers) are based on general knowledge of the subject, not on your book, and may not match your textbook.
- We check uploads and typed topics automatically and may refuse material or topics that are not suitable for school papers, that mix unrelated subjects, or that break these terms.
- Similar material may produce similar questions for different teachers. Papers are not guaranteed to be unique.
10. Fair use and what is not allowed
You agree not to:
- use InkBell for anything illegal, or to create content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or otherwise harmful;
- upload material that contains viruses or harmful code, or that you do not have the right to use;
- try to get around plan limits, payment checks or safety checks, for example by creating several accounts;
- access InkBell with bots, scrapers or other automated tools, or overload or disrupt it;
- copy, change, reverse engineer or try to extract the code or the AI instructions behind InkBell;
- resell InkBell, or offer it to others as your own service, without our written permission;
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's account or payment details.
11. Our app and brand
InkBell, including its software, design, logo and name, belongs to DEVSTAX (Private) Limited. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use InkBell while your account is active. They do not give you any right to our brand or code. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
12. Other services we rely on
InkBell relies on other companies, for example for cloud hosting, our database, AI processing, email and payments. Their services may occasionally be slow or unavailable, which can affect InkBell. We choose them carefully and share only what they need, as described in our privacy policy.
13. Privacy and your data
How we collect, use and protect your information is explained in our privacy policy. PDF files are deleted once a book has been read (we keep its text so you can make more papers). You can remove books and papers at any time, and ask us to close your account and delete your data.
14. Availability and changes to InkBell
We work to keep InkBell running and improving, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance, and we may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel.
Keep your own copy (download or print) of any paper that is important to you.
15. Suspending or closing accounts
- You can stop using InkBell and ask us to close your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or InkBell at risk, or is involved in fraud or payment abuse. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- If we close your account because you broke these terms, paid amounts are not refunded. If we close InkBell or your account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of any period you paid for.
- Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) continue after an account is closed.
16. Disclaimers
InkBell is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will meet every need, that AI-made content will be correct or complete, or that it will be uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under law that cannot be removed.
17. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows:
- we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost income, lost time, lost data you did not keep a copy of, or harm to reputation, including losses from mistakes in an AI-made paper you did not check;
- our total liability to you for any claim about InkBell is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or Rs 5,000 if that is higher.
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, for example for fraud.
18. Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of material you uploaded without the right to use it, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result for us.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it applies. If you keep using InkBell after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel and close your account.
20. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If you have a problem, please contact us first at support@inkbell.app; most issues can be solved quickly. If a dispute cannot be solved within 30 days of contacting us, it will be decided by the courts at Lahore, Pakistan.
21. General
- These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between you and us about InkBell.
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over InkBell, and your rights under these terms will not be reduced.
- We may send you notices by email or in the app. Notices to us go to support@inkbell.app.
